What is Anemia?
Anemia is a disease in which human has a lower than normal number of red blood cells (RBCs) have low hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the protein in RBCs that carries oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. An anemic person has not enough oxygen in their red blood cells due to which the body organ can’t get proper oxygen. Which make a person feel tired and weak with yellowish or pale skin type.
Causes of Anemia:
Anemia can be caused by various factors some of them are;
Blood Loss:
- Heavy blood flow in menstrual periods in women’s.
- In some cases, to heavy blood flow in any injuries, internal bleeding, ulcers, cancers etc.
Decreased Production of Red Blood Cells:
- Most common cause of anemia is iron.
- Folic acid deficiency and VitaminB12.
- Disease of bone marrow (like leukemia, aplastic anemia).
- Chronic diseases (kidney failure, cancer, infections).
Increased Destruction of Red Blood Cells:
- Genetic disorders may also cause anemia like (sickle cell anemia, thalassemia).
- Autoimmune diseases also cause anemia.
- Certain infections and medicines.
Symptoms of Anemia:
There are several symptoms which depend on the severity some common symptoms include;
- feeling tired all the time (fatigue).
- feeling weakness all the time.
- Yellowish or pale skin type.
- Feeling difficulty in breath.
- Low temperature feet and hand (cold).
- Irregular heartbeat and chest pain (in severe cases)
- Poor concentration and headaches.
Treatment / Cure of Anemia:
Different treatment is preferred on bases of causes.
Iron Deficiency Anemia:
If a person is suffering from iron deficiency some iron supplements are preferred it may include tablets or injections.
Eat iron rich food which include red meat, beans, nuts, fortified cereals, spinach.
Vitamin Deficiency Anemia:
If some is suffering from the Vitamin Deficiency Anemia Vitamin B12 injection and tablets are preferred from the doctors.
Tablet of iron folic acid may also be taken for the treatment.
Anemia from Chronic Disease:
Controlling kidney disease, infections, or autoimmune disorders can improve anemia.
Bone Marrow or Genetic Disorders:
In such cases the Anemia can be treat by blood transfusion several medications to stimulate red blood cells. In some sever cases even a bone marrow can be transplant for proper treatment.
Lifestyle Support:
An anemic person can be cured by changing the lifestyle for example by taking balance diet which include the iron reach food and the food which contain vitamin B12, folate, vitamin C.
To cured and proper consumption of iron from the food a person must avoid alcohol excess. Regular checkups are the most important thing which help person fast recover from anemia.
